Exciting New Chapter for Colburn as 1st Colburn Town Scout Group Officially Opens.
The 1st Colburn Town Scout Group has officially opened its doors, marking an exciting new chapter for young people and families in the community. Beavers and Cubs celebrated the occasion alongside their proud parents, with the event attracting some very special guests.
Max Butler, County Lead Volunteer for North Yorkshire Scouts, joined the celebrations, alongside the Garrison Commander, the Garrison Regimental Sergeant Major, and the Mayor of Colburn, Councillor Michelle Dunning. Their presence highlighted the strong support the new group already enjoys from both the military and civic communities.
The evening was packed with fun activities, laughter, and a true sense of excitement for what lies ahead. Lindsay, the District Lead Volunteer, spoke warmly about the achievement, saying she was “incredibly proud of all the leaders and trustees and what they managed to achieve tonight.”
The 1st Colburn Town Scout Group is already being recognised as a major asset to the local community, offering young people the opportunity to build skills for life, make friends, and take part in a wide range of activities.
